Malaysia Airlines commercial director Datuk Rashid Khan said the promotion fares would be in line with the national carrier’s new fare structure, which was launched on Monday.  In the 16 fare classes under the new MAS fare structure, travellers who planned their trips early would be assured of cheaper tickets.  For the MATF last year, MAS offered discounts of up to 70% on European routes and 75% for some Asean destinations.

-ne If nothing else, the rump Group of 88 has demonstrated a talent for revisionist history. Myth #1: The Group of 88’s statement had nothing to do with the accuser’s March 14 allegations. The lead section of the Group of 88’s statement mentioned “what happened to this young woman.” The new statement claims that the signatories “stand firmly by the principle of the presumption of innocence.” Several Group members independently commented on the case either shortly before or shortly after the ad appeared: Houston Baker penned a public letter denouncing the “abhorrent sexual assault, verbal racial violence, and drunken white male privilege loosed amongst us” Finally, and most obviously: if the Group members were so concerned with presumption of innocence back in April, why didn’t they include those three words somewhere in their statement? statement denounced Mike Nifong for mistreating their own institution’s students? The new statement claims, “We do not endorse every demonstration that took place at the time. The rump Group stated, “We appreciate the efforts of those who used the attention the incident generated to raise issues of discrimination and violence”—the very agenda that the potbangers claimed to support as they held signs demanding “Castrate” and “Time to Confess.”As Stephen Bainbridge points out, the rump statement appears to bolster its contention through a distorted quotation:The ad thanked the students speaking individually and…the protesters making collective noise. Here’s the relevant passage of the original ad in full text:To the students speaking individually and to the protestors making collective noise, thank you for not waiting and for making yourselves heard. Is it just me, or does thanking students for not waiting - presumably for the legal system to do its thing - sound a lot like rendering a judgment? statement will limit the Group of 88’s legal liability. Reality Given that this new statement was undoubtedly cleared by a lawyer, I’d suggest that the rump Group find new counsel.

Holiday stuffing aside, yet still in a celebratory spirit, I will make a list of some of the things I am thankful for. I’m really glad that America is keeping up her winning streak by liberating Iraq. Things are so much better now that nine unelected judges decide all major social issues for “we the people”. There are so many toys, I’ll never be completely happy, leading me to continually seek an unacheivable goal. But I’m going to win some day. I am also thankful for sarcasm. On a serious note, I am actually very thankful for this great—so the theory goes—country of ours. Lastly, I am thankful for everyone who still thinks for themselves. If we wish to leave for our children a country we can still be thankful of, we’ve got a lot of work to do. And yes, I’m thankful for the opportunity, too.

Worse knowledge mapmakers believe news has no transparent meaning without being connected to other contexts from history and of the future’s human possibilitiesNews is therefore very risky to make a leadership decision with, unless you have the great fortitude to revisit decisions made at time of news to question if the news and so your decision wasn’t wholly correct. Ten yeras earlier he had started telling stories on how entrepreneurial revolutionaries must protyect themselves from image-making excesses by knowing the deepest reality-making of their innovative purposes and ensuring that they discovered investors who susstianed their innovation -the very opposite of some global accounting’s built to flip concultancyAs someone whose life’s research of local societies in every hemisphere has come to heroise transparent conflict resolution facilitators, I believe Beyond News has many implications - that are at least worth open space question rehearsals before any to be great leader gets rushes of certainty about any value multiplying context, the more so it is one with globally diverse views that need deep democractising or simpol mediation around the people’s globe, or organising democracy.

Video conference on launch of Doing Business 2007 Report.Vietnam is ranked 104/175 countries in terms of the ease of doing business, down six ranks from last year’s 98, said the World Bank’s report released at a video conference on Launch of Doing Business 2007.Vietnam’s down rank indicates that the country’s overall progress in regulatory reforms lags behind other countries and more is needed to be done to make Vietnam more competitive. The down rank does not mean that Vietnam’s ease of doing business has not been improved but other countries have improved their ease of doing business more quickly and better than Vietnam, said Caralee McLiesh, programme manager and co-founder of the Doing Business Project of the World Bank Group. This year’s report focuses on reform, updates indicators developed in the three preceding reports and covers 20 additional countries.

I stuffed the box with as much memory as I could, and it recognizes 262 MB of it.To change OS or Office versions at this point would be unwise — it works as well as it’s ever going to. If for some reason I need to open Word files in some higher version, I’ll install Open Office, but I hope to avoid it.This Old Mac, the Powerbook 14oo, went from OS 7.5.3 to 7.6.1. I downloaded a bunch of stuff — every version of Netscape I could find, iCab, Eudora and more, almost all of which I’ve deleted because it doesn’t work (or work well).

On Low End Mac, Tommy Thomas writes about The Good Old Days of Computing, going back to the early ’90s and before. That’s when disposable doesn’t hurt the pocketbook so much. But still, it would be nice to both get a few more usable years out of a computer and be able to either upgrade its hardware or recycle the whole damn thing. It all depends on what you want to do with the box. Once you start dipping back to OS 8 and 7, it gets even murkier.I’m no expert on OS 8 or 9, but for OS 7 (I’m now using 7.6.1), pickings are rather slim. And if you don’t keep it as your main computer, that 00 laptop could go years longer in limited use. This may sound a little strange coming from This Old Mac, which champions the continued use of 10-year-old hardware, but I’ve always said that if you’re going to have only one computer, it’s nice to have one that does everything you need it to do. ,000 ain’t chicken feed. While Microsoft is trying to make everybody upgrade to XP and Vista, there’s still a lot of life left in Windows 2000 (which I run on This Old PC) and maybe a bit ‘o life in Windows 98 (though the inability to get Wi-Fi and card readers working in that OS prompted me to upgrade). And you can still run IE 6 and Firefox in both 2000 and 98, providing your hardware can keep up.The bottom line for old-Mac users (different than old Mac users, no hyphen) is the waning support for the classic Mac OS. And I do get a kick, although sometimes I wonder where, out of actually using these older boxes.Next: I assume responsibilities for a Power Mac G5, which doesn’t seem old but isn’t exactly new in the wake of Intel Duo Cores and all that. What’s the best/cheapest backup solution out there today?First thing — a Power Mac G5, purchased the same year as an iMac G4, will last longer.

In Episode I: The Phantom Menace (George Lucas, 1999) Anakin Skywalker is the product of a virgin birth who leaves his mother at a very early age to pursue a Jedi training, living with other children at the Jedi Temple with the celibate Masters. He likened the quest to the sun’s diurnal journey, contained in the symbolic realm of the Mother: ‘she contains in her darkness the sun of “masculine” consciousness, which rises as a child out of the nocturnal sea of the unconscious, and like an old man sinks into it again.’ [1] The father complex, then, offers a means to separate from the mother and reach consciousness; Armed with this perspective we find that, rather than being present only in her absence and as such the trigger for psychopathology, the Mother contains the whole drama of the Star Wars films as a largely unconscious presence. In Episodes IV- VI we constantly find ourselves in the realm of the Mother in the vast stretches of space, in a diverse range of vessels including, of course, the Millennium Falcon, in caves and on planets and moons of primordial heat and cold, forests and swamps and in the horrifying dark moons of the Death Stars. the tensions of this oscillation come closer to the surface in Episodes I-III.Having found the mother, therefore, what does an archetypal reading of the quest in Star Wars tell us about the quest itself and what insight does it offer into the astonishing response the films have provoked in several generations of movie goers?[1] C.

Round zucchini is very popular with ISCOWP’s organic produce customers.Sales of organic foods have grown at an annual rate of 20 percent or more since 1990, making organic farming one of the fastest growing segments of U.S. agriculture. This rapid growth is all the more impressive because, unlike conventional agriculture, organic farming is not heavily subsidized by taxpayers’ dollars. The rise of organic agriculture is consumer-driven, not subsidy driven, and indeed organic farmers market their food directly to consumers much more frequently than conventional farmers. Market share for organic producers will continue to expand due to rapid growth in consumer demand. In contrast, conventional agriculture is not sustainable because it depends heavily on petroleum-based fertilizers and pesticides. An important policy implication of this article is the need to discontinue government subsidies for conventional agriculture, since organic farming is the only sustainable form of agriculture and will be the only alternative in the long run.Agribusiness conglomerates, such as Monsanto, Du Pont, Dow, and Novartis, incorrectly argue that organic yields are low. Based on an ongoing long-term comparison study at UC Davis, organic yields were at least as high as conventional farming for all crops tested: tomato, safflower, corn, and bean (Clark, 1999). A recent study comparing organic and conventional apple production in California’s Central Coast showed higher yields as well as higher returns under the organic systems (Swezey et al., 1994). And another recent study compared organic, conventional, and integrated apple production systems in Washington State over a 6 year period, and found that the organic system was more profitable, had similar yields, better tasting fruit, and was more environmentally sustainable and energy efficient than the other systems (Reganold et al., 2001).Organic agriculture can play an important role in averting future crop failures both in the US and in the rest of the world. The Rodale Institute compared conventional and organic systems for corn and soybeans in a study know as the Farm Systems Trial. Although yields were comparable during years of normal rainfall, the key result is that organic practices markedly improved the quality of the soil, thereby allowing soybean yields to remain relatively high even in the face of a drought. Unlike conventional farming, organic practices allow the soil to retain moisture more efficiently, while the higher content of organic matter also makes organic soil less compact so that root systems can penetrate more deeply to find moisture (Rodale Institute, 1999).Not only is organic farming better able to withstand droughts, but it is also relatively immune to the inevitable shortages of petroleum supplies. Conventional agriculture is heavily dependent on petroleum-based fertilizers and pesticides, while in contrast organic farmers are more insulated from volatility in energy prices. Therein lies an important competitive advantage of organic. For example, corn yields would fall dramatically from 130 bushels per acre to approximately 30 bushels, in the absence of chemical (petroleum-based) fertilizers, pesticides, and petroleum powered irrigation (Pimentel, 1998). The world is moving relentlessly towards this scenario, as conventional oil production could hit its maximum (peak) before the year 2010 (Campbell & Laherrere, 1998). Moreover, it is important to note that even before we reach this maximum, the costs of extracting petroleum would rise sharply, as oil companies are compelled to tap into oil deposits that are less accessible. Finally, the costs of extracting oil will exceed the benefits, implying that further production is not economical. While organic production continues to grow rapidly in a competitive free market, conventional agriculture is heavily subsidized through direct farm payments, counter cyclical payments, crop insurance, and a network of research institutes and extension agents. These handouts, which are critical for the survival of conventional agriculture, tend to keep farmland and resources tied up in our highly mechanized, chemical-based farming systems, thereby inhibiting the growth of organic. It is reasonable to conclude that organic would have grown even faster if it had not been for the subsidies that conventional agriculture receives. The misuse of taxpayers’ dollars to subsidize conventional agriculture is symptomatic of a misdirected society. Even in the current situation, in which economically accessible supplies of petroleum are still largely available, conventional agriculture depends heavily on subsidies. The subsidy bill will have to grow sharply in order to maintain conventional farming systems in the face of rising petroleum prices and dwindling supplies. But we have to put these issues into the proper perspective. Although organic farming is a sustainable alternative, the human race will, on many other fronts, continue to experience an array of social, economic, and environmental problems unless we accept the spiritual principles that were enunciated by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. All the difficulties of material existence have a common source, i.e., we want the Kingdom of God without God. Fortunately, these problems also have a common solution, i.e., a society centered around the Supreme Lord.Campbell, Colin J. & Jean H. MIAMI - When their teams last met, Bobby Bowden asked Joe Paterno how much longer he planned to stay in coaching.Sixteen years later, the legends may have that conversation again.Florida State and Penn State will meet in the Orange Bowl at Miami on Jan. 3, a game that’ll mark a showdown between major college football’s two winningest coaches. It’s the sixth Bowl Championship Series appearance in eight years for the Seminoles, the first-ever for Paterno’s Nittany Lions.Bowden’s Florida State team (8-4) earned its Orange Bowl trip by upsetting then No. 5-Virginia Tech in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game on Saturday night. And the Seminoles’ reward is a matchup with another highly touted opponent, a third-ranked Penn State team (10-1) that nearly went unbeaten. It’s a matchup of septuagenarians, with Paterno turning 79 later this month and Bowden now 76. Bowden has 359 wins, six more than Paterno - and both steered their teams to surprising comeback stories in 2005.I hope it doesnt come down to where its Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno because he cant run and I run slower,” Paterno said on ABC, shortly after the expected pairing was formally announced. “I hope it comes down to Penn State and Florida State and people get away from the idea that this has got to be a matchup between two old guys that have had a lot of fun coaching.”Amid whispers that their longtime coach is too old to compete, Paternos Nittany Lions had lost 17 of their last 24 games entering this season and havent won a bowl game since the 1999 season. But only a last-second touchdown by Michigan kept Penn State from finishing this regular season with a perfect record.”Joe Paterno, to me, is maybe the greatest coach ever in my opinion,” Bowden said Saturday night. “I mean that truly, and I said that 10 years ago.”And Bowdens Seminoles had lost three straight and fell from the national rankings before the surprise win over Virginia Tech on Saturday night, one that gave Florida State its 12th ACC title in 14 seasons.Bowden is 1-6 all-time against Paterno

It’s probably not the first time it has happened, but with the exception of ABC’s George Will – who, of course, has been a regular on that network’s â€Å“This Weekâ€ for many years – the networks’ Sunday political talk shows had no established conservative guests to participate in their weekly panel discussions. Joining George Stephanopoulos and George Will this morning were Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile, TIME magazine’s Jay Carney, and ABC’s Claire Shipman. NBC’s â€Å“The Chris Matthews Showâ€ featured Katy Kay of the BBC, Michael Duffy of TIME magazine, Norah O’Donnell of MSNBC, and Terry Neal of the Washington Post. CBS’s â€Å“Face the Nationâ€ did its annual Thanksgiving â€Å“historiansâ€ program. The most left-leaning of the panels was on NBC’s â€Å“Meet the Pressâ€ where Tim Russert invited Judy Woodruff, formerly of CNN’s â€Å“Inside Politics,â€ David Broder of the Washington Post, Eugene Robinson also of the Washington Post, and David Gregory of NBC News. While the â€Å“This Weekâ€ and â€Å“Matthewsâ€ panels actually engaged in a comparatively well-rounded discussion, the â€Å“Meet the Pressâ€ group spent the bulk of its half-hour talking about the â€Å“disasterâ€ in Iraq. For instance, Robinson said, â€Å“I think that there’s general agreement now that there will be a mess in Iraq when U.S. troops finally withdraw and it certainly won’t be an Athenian democracy, as the administration said it was out to create.â€ Gregory agreed, â€Å“And unfortunately, perhaps the only outcome is a kind of low-level civil war that’s akin to the Arab- Israeli situation with U.S. soldiers in the way.â€Woodruff then joined in by paraphrasing a recent article in the Atlantic Monthly: â€Å“And he goes on–basically, what’s scary about it, to pick up on what David said–the scary thing is, he said, even the people who say we must stay the course are saying there are no good options. If you get out, the country falls into civil war. If you stay, it’s a mess.â€ Woodruff added: â€Å“So–and then Larry Diamond, who is not as familiar a name–Stanford University, a Hoover Institute fellow; I interviewed him this week for the Council on Foreign Relations–he spent four months in Iraq; came back completely disillusioned. He was there for the administration; came back completely disillusioned with their commitment. Now, he says, Yes, weve got to stay there, because the U.S. stake in Iraq is greater than in Vietnam.” And he said the U.S. must not only adopt a bilateral position, its got to bring in the U.N., its got to bring in other countries in the region. It is a devastating portrayal.â€Robinson interjected: â€Å“But, you know, Im not sure that the idea of maintaining a unitary Iraq is necessarily the best idea. I mean, is that ever going to work? Is Iraq ever going to be a stable polity, a stable country?â

Understanding the Gender Housework Gap and Addressing the Challenges it Poses to Marital Satisfaction The number of hours North American women spend in the paid workforce has risen substantially since the mid-twentieth century and yet the number of hours men spend on family work has only increased marginally. Having a clear understanding of the origins of “traditional” gender roles is essential in order to conceptualize the disparity of housework between women and men. In practice, the ideal of “separate spheres” was only realized for a select group of women – predominantly in the middle classes – and yet it would have a profound impact upon how the majority of men and women would come to understand themselves, both as members of the family and society as a whole (Coltrane & Adams, 2001). In 1965 women were averaging 6 times as many hours of unpaid household labour as men, by 1995 that gap narrowed to about twice as many hours (Bianchi et al., 2000). In addition to doing double the housework in 1995, there were 16 percent fewer women than men in the paid workforce (Bianchi et al., 2000; There is one key piece of evidence supporting the time availability perspective: for both men and women, the number of hours in the paid workforce is inversely related to the number of hours spent on household activities (Erickson, 2005). However, Erickson (2005) also reveals that even though the volume of housework decreases for working women, they still continue to bear the bulk of household responsibilities – regardless of the hours they spend in the labour market. (2000) found that the variables of getting married, having children, and owning a home each significantly increased the volume of housework for women, but not for men. (2000) confirms that the volume of housework for women with a college degree decreased by 2.01 hours per week and their husbands increased by an average of 2.02 hours (p. However, even with this positive correlation between educational resources and a more egalitarian division of household labour, women are still averaging more housework than their husbands. Erickson (2005) also found that women who are economically dependent upon their husbands were more likely to take greater responsibility in childcare, whereas men who were economically dependent upon their wives would merely take an equal share of childcare and housework. Therefore, it is clear that personal resources determine the division of household labour to a certain extent, but the value of these resources seems to be applied differently for men than for women. Statistical evidence supports the assertion of gender ideology that many of the most undesirable household tasks bear the social classification of “women’s work.” In 1995 women were doing approximately double the amount of housework as their husbands, but when it came to the “core” household tasks – such as preparing and cleaning up after meals, housecleaning, and doing laundry – that disparity in creased anywhere between 3.8 to 9.5 times as many hours (Bianchi et al., 2000). Coltrane and Adams (2001) further reinforce the thesis of gender ideology by providing evidence that men are more likely to view housework as being trivial, and that men tend to feel “entitled to relax after work and on the weekends” (p. The socialized gender identity of both women and men has an influence upon their willingness to engage in household tasks, but do egalitarian gender ideologies and increased levels of education directly translate into a decrease in the housework gap? Regarding the influence of education upon the distribution of housework, men with college degrees did 2 more hours and women with college degrees did 1 less hour than those with a high school education or less (Bianchi et al., 2000). Whether or not the division of household labour is equal, it is critical for both women and men to perceive their share of the housework as fair. Improving the overall rate of marital satisfaction for women is more complex than simply compelling men to do more housework, as Wilkie et al. For instance, women are willing to do up to two-thirds of the housework before they feel the amount they are doing is unfair, whereas men perceive their share a unfair when it exceeds one-third of the whole (Coltrane & Adams, 2001). Providing strategies to raise the perception of fairness in the division of household labour among men – and especially women – should be one of the highest aims for social researchers in this field.

It’s not that it was some sort of “in” thing, it’s that you had to lay out so much money here to just get a signal that only appliance dealers and the Upper Crust could afford it.Item: black & white TV set (we were a couple of years away from color), 00 or so, and not much in the way of picture size.Item: outdoor antenna. So, when they finally became Arkansas immigrants, they already had the TV set … which sat, unused, in the livingroom for almost a year before we had the wherewithal to put up a stick and an antenna.Part of the problem was the sparse availability of TV stations. First, you had to buy a TV set with a special tuner, because it wasn’t until around 1970 that all TV sets were required to pick up all channels, then you had to cope with the fact that, the higher the frequency, the more power it takes to get the same quality signal the same distance as the lower channels. Jim Edward, Maxine, and Bonnie Brown – brother and sisters – did a weekend musical show that helped polish them up for the national stage as “The Browns.” It had the ABC TV network which, at least, gave you Super Circus on Sunday afternoon (a show for which I’ve always had a fondness, since I was on its first network broadcast back about 1950 or 51).The other two of the “big 3” got on the air as quickly as possible. CBS tried any number of things, including a great variety show with Ernie Kovacs – but 10 of a weekday morning wasn’t the time for it (Kovacs commented, “My station list looks like closed circuit, with leaks”).The rest of the time … one station carried a film version of the Guy Lombardo Show early on Saturday evening.

Mom and Dad looked at each other, because no one in his right mind would be out as late as this, especially as cold as it was.Dad opened the door, and there stood a man in an old threadbare coat, a rough old hat, and work shoes. Dad let him in, and told him to warm by the stove. He thanked dad for letting him warm by the fire for a little while before he continued on toward town. as he did, his legs gave way and, with a groan, he collapsed near the door.Dad helped him over by the fire and, after he gained some strength, he started towards the door again, and Dad told him he didn’t have to leave, he would never make it to town, and he could sleep on the floor near the stove. Dad later said he learned this may have been one of the good ole boys from over around Four Mile Hill, and that he had been living on an old abandoned homestead down near the river. When he ran out of food and it turned so bitter cold, he made an attempt to get to town. Dad realized that he wouldn’t be able to make it as he was about to head out into the night.I think Dad was nervous about his staying in the house: he was a stranger, a derelict, and Dad also told me later, when I was older, that he didn’t sleep a wink that night, while the man was in the house. Now, years later, I have to admire my Dad for being of the generous nature he was. to call it “living” would, perhaps, be exaggerating just a bit.My grandfather, Tom Edwards, acquired an old man like that, “Uncle John” Ketcherside who, sometime shortly after we moved in, back in ’46, showed up at the door one day at the dead end of our dirt road.Uncle John was typical of so many of this nameless army of dispossessed: he had no family, no home, no property other than what he was wearing and carrying, no car.

“Portions of today’s programming were recorded earlier for presentation at this time.” Well, Percy MIGHT have been there in the middle of the night ….‘Long ‘bout 1948, the lads at CBS Laboratories discovered how to make a .001 mil groove on a consistent basis. RCA started churning out little 45 players that they sold at cost, just to get them out in the marketplace, the industry as a whole was making a killing on 3-speed phonos, and we just sat back and watched the whole circus play out.CBS tried 33-1/3 singles. There the whole thing stood until CDs came along in the 1990s, not bad longevity for a technical system in the 20th Century.(Oh, for the record: there WAS one other record speed. While their system wasn’t completely compatible (i.e., a black and white set couldn’t display a CBS color signal), for a whole 5, a gadget could be put on the ole black & white TV that DID make it compatible. That “gadget” was a balsa wood wheel filled with colored gels, and a motor that kept it spinning at high speed. Hundreds of millions of dollars were at stake here so, using many of the same techniques with which Edwin Armstrong was personally and professionally destroyed, the RCA boys started after the FCC.The tack the Boys from Camden (NJ) took was interesting: they pestered the FCC into “reconsidering” their decision to make the CBS system the industry standard, and extending the decision period. The ugliness of having that damn wheel in the middle of the living room, etc, ad nauseum. When the reconsideration period was over, the FCC was faced with over two million RCA system sets in the hands of consumers, a fait accompli that even the FCC couldn’t ignore, so they gave the official stamp of approval to RCA and that was that.NBC’s first regularly scheduled network colorcast hit the schedule in the fall of 1953, the “Home Show” with Arlene Francis and this newcomer, Hugh Downs (I thought it was a figure of speech when he’d written me several months earlier saying that he had commitments that “..

It seems that after producing his fifth American album, Strings Aflame, Esquivel set out to create a unique musical journey. Recorded in 1960, See It in Sound is fascinating because it integrates off-kilter music with real-world ambient sounds. It really expands the concept of what an album could be at the time. In this way, it’s very modern; it’s reminiscent of current soundtrack albums that mix dialogue and sound effects into the music. In fact, in many ways it’s like a soundtrack to an imaginary movie.Esquivel’s take on Brazil, in particular, is an amazing experiment. Calling the album Esquivel’s Pet Sounds, Bill Barol’s description of this wild track from his excellent 2002 retrospective article in Slate is worth quoting directly: …the band leader paints a meticulous sound picture of a night on the town gone wrong. An unidentified clubgoer makes his way down rainy streets, the sound of an orchestra muffled but growing stronger, until he opens a door and the music bursts gloriously into the foreground. He eventually returns to the street, the music continuing as background until he arrives at another club

-ne Did we need a formal study to prove that black people are not a monolith? Nearly 40 percent of low-income blacks say they have nothing in common with middle-income and poor blacks. The article goes on to explain:Another revelatory finding in the Pew poll is that 37 percent of African Americans now agree that it is no longer appropriate to think of black people as a single race. And the people most likely to say blacks are no longer a single race are young black people, ages 18-29. Forty-four percent of those young black people say there is no one black race anymore, as compared to 35 percent of the 30- to 49-year-old black population, and 34 percent of the black people over age 65. White Americans agreed, with 54 percent saying there is a growing values gap between the black middle class and the black poor; These results should clarify for anyone still confused, why the notion of the black monolith and the singular black leader is ridiculous and has been since the close of the Civil Rights movement when blacks were more segregated and could more easily unite around a clearly defined set of legal goals.

Well I had asked everyone to send me labor vibes and it worked that day! At 39 weeks! It all started in the morning when I had my regular antenatal check up. The doctor told me the head was not engaged yet and I was a pin dilated. He also gave me an induction date. WELL THANKS TO YOU GUYS I WENT INTO QUICK LABOR STARTING AT ONE O’CLOCK THAT AFTERNOON! I went for a walk and at around that time, I felt crampy. Then at 3pm while I was doing my wifely and much dreaded duty of ironing, I felt more cramps. I thought this was Braxton Hicks. Well by 5pm I was timing them and they were three minutes apart! I called the hospital and they told me to relax and take a bath. I was like, WTF?! Im dying here!” So I took a bath but the pain got worse. I timed them and they were still 3 minutes apart and lasting longer in seconds. By 7pm, I told Mr. Mogul to take me to the hospital. When I got there, I had to go to reception. She was not fazed by my condition and told me to wait and take a seat. I wanted to smack her in the head! Soon I was admitted to the delivery suite and found out that I was 3cm dilated! The midwives stripped me of my clothing and I inhaled the gas and air as if it was the last thing to keep me alive. For some reason I started hallucinating, thinking that I was in New Yorks old Twilo club high on Ecstasy. But the pain got worse and I begged for the Epidural. I was like in another planet by this time. However, the Epidural made me get a fever and the SHAKES! I was 7cm dilated and was in such a state. At this time, I started hallucinating that I was in the movie Mosquito Coast starring Harrison Ford! I was this poor lonely girl left by the river being eaten by mosquitoes when Harrison Ford and his family saves me on his raft.I was so bad at the pushing stage that I ended up getting a Vacuum delivery. But soon out came our baby boy! I was still in LA LA LAND and couldnt really concentrate to be honest. I was still in a drugged up state. Sort of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz caught in the show, ER! The baby came out with some breathing problems and was taken to intensive care so I didnt see him until almost four and a half hours later. Now since Mr. Mogul put up the last picture, he looks like the Jolly Green Giants Baby. But hes really tiny. Hes 7lbs 3 oz today. As for the length, they dont measure that anymore here in the UK.Harrison is his name. Harris is his nickname. Joseph is named after my dad.But get this folks: He was born on 2-2-06 at 6:26am!Well, I got to recuperate now since I feel like a wounded soldier so will update soon!

100 Things About Me

When I started writing this list a few weeks ago, I did not think that it would be that hard to complete…boy was I wrong! Listing 100 things about yourself is a lot harder that I had imagined! My favorite ice cream flavor is anything chocolate28. My favorite hot drink is tea29. I love Hormel Chili (no beans) and Velveeta Cheese dip35. I love to drink Guinness44. I love to bake47. My favorite movie is the Princess Bride56. I have 1 nephew, 1 niece, 2 step-nieces and 1 unknown on the way64. I love thunderstorms67. I love to watch sunsets72. I love the thrill of a roller coaster80. My favorite book is the Witch of Blackbird Pond82. My favorite cocktail is a strawberry margarita89. I adore the musical theater (seen Cats, Phantom, Evita, Lion King, Mamma Mia, King and I……)95. I like most kinds of music – country, rock, jazz, blues, oldies, gospel, opera, classical, some rap (see #99) …..99. My favorite quote: “Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends” (choose wrong and you can’t blame fate!)Return to my blog:

This suggets that a) there is some serious pricing pressure (from WBSN?) out there especially given that the company supposedly raised prices on its products last year b) the company had a huge spike in operating expenses (which any good management should have seen coming) or c) combination of both factors. One positive thing this miss provides is that it sets the bar lower for the company which it might need especially given the recent expensive acquisition company recently announced and its plans to compete in the hotly contested L4-L7 market.

So by the age of eighteen, Douglas was orphaned and on his own.In the 1993 film Shadowlands, starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger, Doug is the little boy sitting on the steps with the bereaved and distraught C S Lewis after Joy’s death. The informal address Doug uses to refer to Lewis is indicative of the intimacy they shared for ten years.Doug has chronicled the story of his childhood and youth with Joy and Jack in his 1988 autobiography Lenten Lands (publisher’s subtitle: ‘My childhood with Joy Davidman and C. I have a shelf-full of books about Lewis the academician, Lewis the lay-theologian, Lewis the prolific author/poet… But one must remember that [he] believes that Lewis, indeed, was a saint, and a saint of the most real kind, not someone without flaws but rather one who aspired to overcome those flaws and in fact did so in many cases.’In an interesting interview with the magazine Christianity Today Doug was asked ‘What were Jack’s flaws, and which ones did he overcome and which ones did he take to his grave?’ We learn about a very human C S Lewis in Jack’s Life. p 39).If you wanted to be picky (I’m sure C S Lewis would have been!) bits of the story are repeated here and there, and we sometimes go back and forth chronologically. Joy Davidman the intellectual and linguistic equal (according to Doug) and only love of Jack’s life; category: C S Lewis never forgot anything he read (p 26). And (this I didn’t know): T S Eliot was a friend of Jack’s in spite of Lewis being openly critical of Eliot’s poetry. The refrain through the whole story is simply that Jack put his Christian duty before any other consideration. I would recommend Lewis’ own Surprised by Joy and George Sayer’s Jack: A Life of C S Lewis for more about all that. Lewis : A Complete Guide to His Life & Works by Lewis scholar Walter Hooper. In an interview somewhere Doug tells this story: ‘A guy approached Jack on the street one day and asked him if he could spare a few shillings.
